The wine industry, so significant in Bordeaux, has long been aware of the role that architecture could play in the development of wine tourism. Château Lafite-Rotschild started the trend with its new cellar designed by Ricardo Bofill in 1985, and it was soon followed by several châteaux that combine wine production and architectural quality.
The day trip will allow to visit the Libournais or the Médoc regions and discover the creations by Jean Nouvel, Jean-Michel Wilmotte, Christian de Portzamparc, Norman Foster or local architects (BPM, Nadau-Lavergne, A3A…). Wine tasting can be arranged, or even a visit to Saint-Emilion spectacular medieval city center.
